Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship. Religion is man-made, and are based on trying to get to God through rules, regulations, and works. It is based on human's efforts at reaching God and being made right with Him through efforts. God's plan is not based on people's efforts and good works, but is based on His amazing love and grace for us. His plan involved His one and precious son Jesus paying the price and cost for our sins on the cross.You only need to put all your trust and faith in Jesus, and in what He did for us on the cross, and not in any religion or any own efforts. Simply accept His gift of salvation and eternal life, and experience His great joy and peace of having a right relationship of love with God.
Religion's goal is to reach out God, and try to work your way into heaven. Meaning, they have a diligent service and works, with hopes of reward from heaven Their power is focused on their good, honest effort through self-determination. Self-motivation and self-control are its control. And the result of it may be apathy, failure, chronic guilt, and eternal separation from God. While salvation through faith in Jesus Christ or what the so called "Personal Relationship" has a goal also, to trust fully in Jesus, then live to please Him who created us. It means to confess their sins personally to God, repent, and to yield self to Jesus. Its power is that the Holy Spirit does God's work in and through us. Allowing the Holy Spirit to control and direct their lives is their way of controlling their relationship with Christ. The results of this right relationship are love, joy, peace, freedom, victory, power, and eternal life in heaven.
Religion may be a part of having a right relationship with God but we should not focus on it. We should know the difference of having a right religion from having a right relationship. Religion will only be our guide to have eternal life. It will be the one to discipline us and mold us to be a leader of destined leaders who will conquer the world and will let everyone know how much God loves us. Religion will only be our temporary guidance which will lead us into something that will make our knowledge deeply mold. It will be the one to put us on process that will teach us on how to be patient and mature. So we should be aware of what religion we should belong. We should be aware of every knowledge that our religion will impart unto us. That is why it is very important for us to read the bible in every time that we are free for us to have deeper and true knowledge about our salvation. We should have our daily devotions for us to be guided by God's own word and not only with our leader's words. It is important for us to have our personal and intimate understanding with His words. Have faith and focus only to God!
